BOPAC BOPAC2 Trial System

This is BOPAC2 (Bradford OPAC 2), an experimental library interface designed to help users conduct parallel searches across multiple bibliographic Z39.50 targets (library catalogues or other databases). Users can examine and manipulate the results of their search in various ways.

What do you need to use BOPAC2?

To use BOPAC2 you need a web browser which can run Java applets. We have run it with UNIX, Windows NT/95 and on a Mac.

There are two stages to BOPAC2.

The first stage is where you specify the targets (catalogues) you want to search and your search criteria. This has been created using the WWW-Z39.50 gateway produced by the Europagate Project.

The second stage is a Java applet which you use to examine the results of your search.

More information is available in the BOPAC FAQ or on the BOPAC2 Project Home Page
